Step 5Preparing for the Project:There are several preparations you can make as a homeowner that will make your construction project progress more smoothly and cause less stress for you. 1. Be prepared for noise. Construction crews will generally begin working early in the morning. There will be constant hammering during roofing, siding, and other projects. You may want to plan a day away from your home while the project is in progress.
2. Please remove all loose items from walls and shelves, such as pictures, plates, or other collectibles. The hammering may create vibrations that could shake items off of your shelves and walls. If we are working on skylights, debris has a tendency to fall into those areas of your home, so please protect anything that might be below them by moving or covering them up. Also remove all items from around the exterior of your home where roofing or siding debris may fall. 3. We will most likely need to use power tools during the project, so please be prepared to provide an electrical outlet for our use. 4. Please move your cares, motorcycles, boats, bicycles, and any other vehicles away from the house and garage while the project is in progress. If you do not have a ceiling in your garage and can see the bottom side of the roof decking, please move or cover all items that might get damaged by small pieces of felt or shingles falling through the spaces between the decking boards. It is very important to move or protect cars, boats, motorcycles, mechanical equipment, or anything else that may be damaged by falling debris. 5. We will need access to the driveway in order to load shingles, siding or other materials, so please clear off your driveway before the project begins. 6. There will be trucks loading and unloading supplies and men working with power tools and ladders. PLEASE KEEP CHILDREN AND PETS AWAY FROM THE WORK AREA AT ALL TIMES. 7. If rotted wood, deteriorated or deflected decking is found, we will not be held liable. This is your financial responsibility. We will replace rotted wood, deteriorated, or deflected decking on a time and material basis. 8. Nails that fall from the roof during the job will be picked up with a magnetic roller. We will make every effort to pick up all the nails, however, a few nails, often hidden in the grass, may remain. Our field supervisors, project managers, and crews pledge to work as a team with you to complete your project as quickly and precisely as possible and with the least inconvenience to you and your family. <--Previous Page Next Page--> |
